19!

Hello everyone!

This is just a short celebratory update letting you know that today I turn 19 years old. Wow, time just flies! It feels like I turned 18 not that long ago… but here I am! One year until I turn 20 - now THAT'S an incredible reality. :o

Everything has gone well in the day so far! I woke up and it was raining - I LOVE the rain! - I got a bunch of "happy birthday" wishes from friends, I listened to some of my favorite music as I got ready for the day… and that's just the start of the day! I can't wait to see what the rest of it brings. My family and I are having our own little celebration, then my boyfriend is coming and he's got some sort of surprise I think - I only think this because my mom and brother let something slip to me the other day.

Anyways, hoping your days are as good as mine is right now! I've got lots of new drawings ready to upload over the next few weeks, so be ready for complete beauty heading your way. :)

Simple Update

Hello all!

It's a beautiful rainy day here! That's wonderful to me because we haven't had rain in a long time, so it's quite refreshing - AND it means that I can stay inside and draw as much as I want. :boogie:

Just a quick life-update:
I got hired as the Set Designer and Lead Painter for the community play in my town area! I've got about 4 weeks and only volunteers with little painting experience to help me. It's gonna be interesting. Oh, the play is "Little Me" which I don't care for at all (really, I can't stand it) but it's a paying job and looks great on my portfolio.

Commission update:
The ever kind and generous :iconjonamack:'s commission is finished! Glad you like it! ^_^

That's really all for now. I just had to get that old journal entry off of my profile page. ^^;

Take care!

Why I've been absent lately

Cioa all!

My, how life becomes busy! I have barely been on Deviatart over this past month due to my PSEO 3D Foundations class at college and my final project there, and wow have my messages really piled up! I'm sorry for my delay in getting back to you on your comments/replies. I haven't forgotten you, my priorities have been compromised for the time being until my class is done.

In my 3D Foundations class, the project I'm working on now is… *drumrole please*… a slightly larger-than-life full cat skeleton made out of pine 2"X 4"s. There are a lot of bones to make, and assembling them will be a real test. But, I'm seriously enjoying it and can't wait to see it finished! I just hope I can make the deadline… which is this upcoming Thursday. >_<

So that's why I have been so absent on DA and why I have not been uploading much for artwork either - I have no time for any other art projects aside from this one currently, but come Friday, it'll be all 2D all the way again (for a while ;) ).

Commissions are still open. Note me if you're interested!

Commission for :iconjonamack: = 80% finished.

Until we meet again, take care!

Updating with another question:

I'm waiting to make a decision until I get a few more opinions from watchers, but does anyone feel like it would be a difference if I dropped the price down to $30?

It's such a balancing act, and for those of you who have tried to sell art I'm sure you know this as well. You don't want to overcharge because no one will buy your work, but underselling undervalues the time and resources you put into it and I've been told by several artists of similar genre that $30 is really low to ask as a price. I can't go below $30, but would be willing to go that low if the mass vote was that it had larger appeal.

Original message:

Cheers everyone!

So… I'm curious if there is anyone out there who is perhaps interested in commissions at this time? There is a lot of interest in my Tribal Series, and I would be happy to draw Tribal commissions for people if they feel like that has the most appeal to it. Because of the markings, a Tribal animal commission would be $40.

So I ask you all, my watchers, what your opinion is. If I offered 6 commission slots, do you think they would be taken? Or would they just sit there and be looked at? Honesty is what I'm looking for in an answer, though! I know very well that people are being more careful about how they spend their money, me being one of them right now, so I 'm not at the least bit offended if the 6 slots don't get taken. I would understand the reason.

Opinions in the form of a comment on this journal would be greatly appreciated!

Peace, hugs and a good day to you, everyone!
